An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a tax practitioner who has expertise in the field of taxation. Our EAs are based in Florida and serve clients nationwide. According to IRS.gov, “An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by either passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual and business tax returns, or through experience as a former IRS employee.”

Only Enrolled Agents, attorneys, and certified public accountants (CPAs) can represent taxpayers in front of the IRS.
Becoming an Enrolled Agent is not easy. The license is earned by either passing a three-part examination which covers individual and business tax returns; or by having worked in a position in relations to tax code at the IRS for five years. In addition, candidates need to pass a tax compliance check.

Once the license is earned, EAs have to comply with a renewal cycle and have continuing education requirements in order to keep their license.
